Are my data really processed on the device?
Yes. Papyr uses on-device recognition to read and categorize your documents. They are never uploaded to a server or shared with third parties. Your documents only leave your iPhone if you enable the encrypted iCloud backup. For anonymized usage analytics, we use PostHog (EU-hosted, GDPR-compliant) — without document contents, with opt-out in the settings.
Do I need an account?
No. There’s no sign-up and no login. Download Papyr and start scanning - your archive lives from the very first page on your device.
What documents does it recognize?
Papyr recognizes common document types — taxes, insurance, vehicle, health, housing, finances, and more. Anything the app isn't sure about ends up in your inbox for one-tap categorization.
How much does it cost?
